Work hard . . . play hard.
One of my great passions is an African-Brazilian art known as Capoeira Angola. Capoeira Angola is a unique art form that combines dance, music, instrument-making, self-defense, acrobatics, ritual, and theater to create a completely improvised movement and musical exchange.
I began to study Capoeira in 1998. In 2000, I began offering Capoeira Angola classes as a member of the Associação de Capoeira Corpo e Movimento under Professor Jim. In 2006, I became the Assistant Director of the non-profit organization Brazilian Cultural Foundation which is dedicated to providing community services and cultural arts classes such as Capoeira Angola in local schools and community centers.
